Our soldier’s ministry with Adopt-A-Platoon is active again.  We just received a new assignment for an Army Platoon of 39 soldiers (including 3 women) assigned in Iraq until January.  An updated list of requested items is available in the Welcome Center.  Call Marta Guckes with questions (314-518-4310).  We will do a cookie baking day again soon.

First E Free Church has a housing need for a missionary family of three (with a small dog) for one year.  Contact Cathy Nelson cnelson@efree.org or 636.779.2187.

Camp Cornerstone will be at Turkey Hill Ranch Camp on August 27 through 29.  Signups began last Sunday, July 11th.

As most of you know by now, we have another new baby in our “family”.  Lydia Praise, 7 lb. 8 oz. and 20” long was born on July 8th at 1:26 a.m. to Jamie and Anna Cook in Kentucky.  Gramma Karol is already there and Grandpa Pastor Terry will leave tomorrow for some hands on loving.

REMINDER!  The Lost and Found basket is full.  Please go through it to see if anything in it is yours.  All remaining items will be donated in next week.  By the way, does anyone know to whom the 3 plastic bags of clothing and hanging coats belong to?  They had a name on them a month ago and were moved to the coat rack because no one picked them up.  We plan to donate them if no one claims them soon.

St. Paul’s E Free Church, 9801 Olive Blvd., corner of Olive and Warson Road, will have a rummage sale Saturday, August 7th, 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Flyer is posted on hall bulletin board.

CONTINUING BIBLE STUDIES – Other studies are listed under the gender specific ministries below.

Rich Cartier leads a class on 1st Corinthians every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the church office.  The plans are to continue this class into the Fall.  Rich will also teach this class during the 2nd hour on Sunday mornings through the summer.

The Saturday morning Barnabas Project, open to men and women, led by Pastor Terry, meets from 7:30 to 8:30 in the Fireplace Room using the Student Copy of the Men At The Cross One2Won cross training study guide.  We encourage discipleship among ladies/young ladies as well as men/young men and this study helps each of us become familiar with and comfortable using a great tool for one-to-one or one-to-two discipleship.  It is an extremely practical way of equipping men and women of Cornerstone to multiply disciple makers.

MISSIONS

Cornerstone people on the Moldova missions trip are Ion, Svetlana and Emy Cheptene, Anne Parker, Oleg and Irina Podgorny and Derrick Staten.  The first group left last Saturday, July 3 and returns Sunday, July 11 – the second group leaves July 10 and returns July 18.  Please be in prayer for this trip and for everyone involved, including the Moldovan children who will be attending the camps.

Immanuel will have their Vacation Bible School on August 9 through 13.  Our Student Ministry will be heading it up and will need helpers. ♥  Contact Aaron.

PRAYER

Our condolences go to Marilyn Brown on the passing of her son, Mark, who went home to be with the Lord last Saturday night.  He will be missed by his brothers, sister, children, and of course, his mom.  We just trust in the Lord that this is according to the will of God.  Visitation will be at Hoffmeister’s Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa, 63109, tomorrow (Thursday) from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a gravesite service at St. Paul’s Church on Rock Hill Road off Watson Road.  Anyone who can is also invited to lunch at C.J.Mugg’s, Lockwood and Gore, in Webster after the services.

Praise the Lord for Joyce Clark’s surgery last Friday.  It went successfully and she is on the way to recovery and being spoiled by three daughters who have camped out at their house all week!!!

Susan Ritland had hip replacement surgery Monday morning at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and is coming home today.  Pray for comfort and patience as she goes through therapy and recovery.

Continue to pray for Karen Felton, Cornerstone missionaries, our Russian congregation, marriages, students and those going through personal trials and health issues; plus Immanuel, Pastor Todd and their congregation.

Reminder:  Our Monday evening prayer group meets from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary; and, the 50/50 prayer group meets every Thursday morning from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. in the Fireplace Room.  Everyone is welcome to join either or both groups.

SERVING CORNERSTONE

Please consider being a volunteer at Cornerstone.  Sign up through the Welcome sheet in your Sunday bulletin or call or email the church office to joanne@cornerstonestaff.org .  Wherever you see this symbol “♥” in this publication, it indicates volunteer opportunities available at Cornerstone.  Contact the office to find where you can help.  You are what makes Cornerstone thrive so come, volunteer and help us grow.

REMINDER!  ♥ We continually collect used laser and ink jet printer cartridges and old cell phones for our silent recycling fundraiser – place them in the basket located by the elevator in the foyer.
